Fishing got off to a great start, as soon as we got to our fishing spot, within 5min we had a double on. Seagulls were diving everywhere and the fish finder screen was loaded with bait and Stripers. My clients had a chance to catch Stripers on artificial and also on  live bait. Altogether we had a total of 25 Stripers, it was a great morning. If you haven't Striper fished during the winter, you should give it a try!!!

Fall Striper Fishing is here! The Stripers are feeding closer to the surface, now that the water is in the mid to lower 70's. It is nothing like watching Stripers break the surface, feedind on shad.My clients landed 50 Stripers or more, in the first week of October. 5 of the fish were citations (37 1/4in or 20lbs)!!!The Striper fishing is just starting to heat up, so get your warm clothes on and get on the boat with Captain WendellDudley, if you want to reel in the big one!

Fishing Report
The water temperature is rising, Spring time is near. We are starting to catch Stripers on the bank, casting a 5 inch
pearl fluke, with a 1/4 ounce lead head. The water temperature is about 42 degrees, when the water reaches 50 degrees we will use live Shad on the surface. I prefer fishing with Gizzard Shad, to catch  larger fish. You want to fish shallow water when casting a fluke or pulling live bait. The hotter the water gets the more active the fish are, up to 80 degrees. When the water reaches temperatures in the 80's and 90's, the fish will go to deeper water.

Today we fished in front of Bernards Landing, and caught 25 Stripers!
The largest fish of the day, was 13lbs. We used a combination of
methods, Down lines and Light lines. The fish seemed to want Ale Wives
more than they wanted GIZZARD shad.

Monday - Sep 13, 2010
About  6:45am, we found the fish surfacing across from Bernards Landing.
We had 14 fish in the boat by 8:30am,  with one weighing 18lbs 11oz!
Most of our fish we're caught on small bait, using light weighted lines 50ft behind the boat.

Friday - Sep 10, 2010
The morning started off like we were in a Chinese fire drill.  By 9:00am, we boated 6 fish and had a few short strikes.
The largest fish was about 11 lbs.  From 9:15am or so until the end of the fishing trip, we caught 4 more fish.  I found the majority of the fish in the Virginia Dare Cove, from 20 to 50 ft deep on small bait.

Thursday - Sep 9, 2010
The fishing has picked up in the last few days. I found fish at the Virginia Dare from 20 to 60ft deep.
It didn't take us long to catch our limit. Now  that the water temperature is cooling off, the fish are more active.
